Story behind the song
“Lady In The Mist” I close my eyes. Relax. I go to a secret place in my mind. I sit a while next to a crystal blue lagoon being fed by a thunderrous waterfall that cascaddes from high upon a cliff. As it spills into the lagoon it stirs up a mist. All that I can hear and see is wonderously beautiful. Then it happens. A soft pulsing tone. Melodic. Rhythmic. It seems to be comming from somewhere inside the waterfall. My soul is drawn to it. The roar of the watefall seems to get softer as the tone gets gradually louder. I search now with my ears and eyes trying to pinpoint the direction it’s comming from. What was that? I could swear I saw something moving in the waterfall! Yes, there is figure hidden in the mist (and lawd what a figure). Now the rhythmic melody is louder and the figure is getting clearer as she emerges from the mist. As she draws near she brings with her an unbelievable beauty. The air is now filled with music and she dances as she approaches. Every move pure sensuality. I am now in a trance. My eyes are glued to her. Now I know how the snake must feel when he is under the charmer’s spell. I want to reach out and touch her but she is always just out of reach. Twirling, swaying, undulating. She dances the magic dance. When I finally get enough nerve I make my move. Just like that she spins away smiling at me with that “look but don’t touch “ expression on her face. Now she moving back towards the waterfall. The music is quieting and there is that pulsing, melody again until all that is left is a memory of one of the most beautiful moments of my entire life.
