Story behind the song
When I was about 21 or so, I found a group of kids ranging from the ages 14-16 and they had a band. Depe, Chris, and Tom were their names. I was just in the birthing stages of my audio production skills, and I seemed to have a knack for putting it together. They had a bassist that wanted to be the singer. Needless to say, he sang awfully, so I unplugged everyone but him. When they heard his voice they asked him to stop. He got angry and left. I ended up laying vocals on the song they wanted, this song. I recorded all of the instruments seperately, and added my mutli-tracked vocals on a BR-8 digital recording studio, and in a few weeks, with what little experience I had, I managed to bring them "Give It".
They were sad to inform me that the entire melody of the song had been re-written, and concluded that the old version had sounded nothing like how they re-wrote it. They were very pleased with my results however, and gifted me their musical composition, and so it became mine. I tried my best to refine the audio as I wanted to retain the original tracks. They may not have had much skills when those guys were young, but they had awsome timing. Now some of them have already moved on to bigger things. Maybe... I can too.
