Story behind the song
Gypsy lady read my fortune, she said I'd reach my pot of gold. Gypsy lady read my fortune, now my fortune has been told.
Lyrics
SHIPS OVER THE OCEAN Ships over the ocean, ships over the sea. Ships over the ocean, are you coming here for me? Are you coming here for me? Gypsy lady read my fortune, she said I'd reach my pot of gold. Gypsy lady read my fortune, now my fortune has been told. My fortune has been told. Ships over the ocean, ships over the sea. Ships over the ocean, are you coming here for me? Are you coming here for me? Gypsy lady read my fortune, she said I'd reach my pot of gold. Gypsy lady read my fortune, now my fortune has been told. My fortune has been told. Written By: Jerry Willard June 1987

The mystical side of Electric Shadow comes shining through on this selection. There are an array of interpretations, symballic and otherwise that could relate to the lyrics in this one. The fact that there is no one interpretation, adds to the mystery of what was intended and that's a good thing!!!!! The vocals are superbly intwined in the mood and enhance further the lyrical mystery. The intrumental mix, melody and flow stimulate the imagination in whatever interpretation that one would pursue. An excellent song in every detail~!!!!!!!! Two thumbs up, a guitar pick fling, a hat throw and all the stars that I can muster for "Ships Over the Ocean"!!!!!!!!!!!! LLP my friends, Wade
This is amazing cuz really like this very cool indeed ;)

peace, all i can say about this one is, WOW !!! realy like the sound. i am trying to think what else i can say, oh, i wouldn't pay attention to gypsies that have big warts on their nose : - )... a little fact, gypsy, the word derives from the word for "Egyptian" in Latin. back to the song, you two have done an excellent job with instruments, & the vocals haunting and right on ... keep up the good, truely glad i stopped by for the feast. now how do i get that song out of my head, lol... bBlsd bWl peaceRrock

Great moody feel that paints a mellow and somber feeling, almost trance like. Very soothing and evoking of a pleasant emotional journey. Love it!!
