Lyrics
Once upon a time he got drunk with the devil, tis a hell of a place Satan has I must tell.
Hear the screams of the suffering in a big band of rebels, the heat was terrific, the burgers done well.
We'd gather 'round the fire, and we'd tell some lies, roasting some locusts -content where we dwell,
Perhaps because he was thinking that it seemed so nice; the guard said "Lucanus, you've been kicked out of hell."
So he came to the earth, and was born out of a womb, was cursed with a conscience and heartbeat from birth.
But he wished he had stayed in the fiery tomb, for that 'man from hell' had a hard time on earth.
He started smoking pot, he pissed people off, he tried to fit in but he did not belong.
Came to the conclusion that he had gone soft, and Hell should not be on the Earth - it's just wrong!
But it did not take long for the "Hell-man" to die, for he froze in a snowbank past Highway Eleven.
Some say on purpose, and I'd understand why, -now that man from Hell was on his way to Heaven.
He smelt tears of joy, and he heard angels laughin', he seen pearly gates and he started to run.
He knocked because he thought 'What's the worst that can happen?', t'was then that he realized that no one would come.
He kicked with his feet, he shook with his fist, "But how could this happen? Tell me why?!" -he did shout.
He heard someone yell "Man you're not on the list, you have hell on the inside, as well as the out.
And we've seen what you've done, your sins are so poor I cannot let you in even through the back door.
Son it's not your time but if you pray to the Lord; He'll probably forgive you, -you can settle the score."
Well he broke down and cried, knees hit heavens floor, kind of relieved because his feet were so sore.
Grabbed onto a cloud; all that he could afford, and he took to a low place he'd been long before.
It felt uneasy, and yet he did ponder, was the Highway to Hell, and he started to sweat.
He figured 'where else do i have left to wander? have long since been kicked out; perhaps they forget.'
Well he ran past the gates, straight into the bar, he did not have change, yet he ordered a beer.
Tried not to get noticed, but he didn't get far, "Mr.Luke Pell from Hell no you should not be here!"
He begged "Can't I stay?! I've got nowhere else! Please Lucifer let me get rest; I'm not well!"
-"Lucanus I have no concern for yourself; you are a disgrace to all men from Hell"
So he left in a panic, was really quite mad, crawled back to the place he had once known as earth.
Now it's his second time 'round and hey it's not that bad. -He'd tell you right now "hell, it could have been worse".
