I've been writing and playing music for 30 years now and as the technology became better and cheaper I have practiced the difficult task to produce as well. Story behind the song
This song is written entirely by my very good long time friend Christian Jensen. Last Saturday we recorded a track with acoustic guitar and a vocal track. This weekend I have arranged or you may say - transformed it into this jazz/funk tune. Paul Barny Barnes helped out with his great guitar playing and really gave our little tune the last finish it needed to call it a real jazz/funk tune. Christian and I go back a long time. We went to school together from the 5¡¦th grade and music has always been a part our friendship. In highschool we had a band back then and later on in the midth 90s we made some homestudio recordings together. Now after 14 years we finally found time to play together again and I must say it was definitely worth waiting for. Both Christian and I hope you like what you hear. This tune Johanna is written in danish so the fewest of you understand the meaning of the words, which actually is a pitty, because this is really strong lyrics. Christian paints a picture of the early 80s. We were young and had the whole life in front of us, and when we look back on those days, they were always positive, although we suffered the worse crisis in Denmark during that particular period. So where did Johanna come from you may ask ?? Well thats the brilliant about this lyric. Johanna was a big pophit back in the 80s one of those songs that every young man and woman knew word for word in their heart, so the lines: Hvor er du nu Johanna Hvor er du blevet af ? Hvor er du nu Johanna ? kom lad os kalde gamle minder tilbage. means: Where are you now Johanna ? Where have you gone ? Where are you now Johanna ? Come let us bring all the old memories back. The lyric contains lots of snapshots of the life we had back then - in good and bad. Dear soundclick friend. you might be surprized that i gave you a 5 for lyrics but i do because i can hear them - i don't understand them, but after having traveled the world, and in most places not understanding but a few words, and listening to all kinds of music, the words sung are like another fine instrumental. and with your nicely sung vox, i got nothing less. great bass, guitars, horns, everything. a great tune lasse. peace---jd

lasse its so awesome that u did this.. u have no clue im working on some new tunes and i was a little lost on the production piece.... listening to this totally opened my idea up.. (it is also like a funk jazz tune) and u nailed the production right on the head... amazing work... as a bassplayer i must say u did an amazing job and the piano is pretty damn impressive... love the horns and the guitars, how they play together... this song even tho its technically rich could easily wind up in a radio for non musical ears to enjoy... all together rock solid job man...
