Wrote this one prior to Tent Sleeps 4 and it was the first song the band decided to learn. The original version was a mid tempo Ska ditty we used to open our shows. This version is totally reworked in approach. The idea for the tension came from Open House days in college when we were forced to be in our dorm rooms with doors open for visiting potential students and their furrow browed parents. I did my best to be both compliant and welcoming while being a bit twisted, just enough to raise some concerned looks from the parents. I think that twisted welcoming mood translates well in this version. Oddly, we never recorded or released this on an album. The lyrics and melody have always been one of my favorites.
