Music for your heart and soul.
Not really what you could call a band. It's just me! Music has always been a passion of mine. I have been playing one instrument or another since I was big enough to sit at the family piano. I played tenor sax in my high school band and played around a little with the guitar. I found six strings to be a bit too much and I soon picked up my first bass. Bass guitar seemed to be perfect for me. After I got the hang of the bass the six string didn't feel nearly as awkward. I started out playing in garage bands like most everyone. I played in club bands for many years until I got totally burnt out from the road and dealing with club owners. Sure I miss the live performances but now days I'm perfectly content to plug a guitar into my iMac and just do my thing.

Story behind the song
This song was actually written in the late seventies but nothing was ever done with it until now. Most likely written at an alcohol (or whatever) fueled jam session. Paul Larson claims credit to the original chord progression. Craig Larson wrote the lyrics at a later date. Additional lyrics and arrangement by Gordon Larson in 2008.
Lyrics
Once upon a time in a world of a mind Lived a people of peace and of plenty Singing of joys they were good girls and boys They treated mother nature so gently Then the dragon came to them Stole their precious magic gem Hard are the tears and the passing of years Icy winter desert summer Long are the miles from the innocent smiles And the rhythm The rhythm of freedoms thunder From the hills came a warrior He had lightning flashing from his eyes Summoned here to test his metal Against the lie in the in the cave of the dragon Iron draws the blood of fire When the two are joined in battle Dragon was the first to tire Then the snake met it's death With a smoldering breath And the land it flowed with milk and honey And the fears of the past Became the joys of today And the rhythm The rhythm of freedoms thunder Let the story be told About a warrior so bold He brought silver and gold Now we sing songs of the old

Hi Gordy, The Slay of The dragon is an interesting piece. to me it tells the story of inocent children who get mixed up in the drug scene and tell this story of hope. I can see it was a Challenging piece to do. Very good job in bringing that message across. Good verses evil and Good wins out. This is how I pictured this Ballad. Blessings, and Gods Great Peace, Heleana Maria

Interesting song where I can hear heavy flavors of the 70's, and early 80's. NICE guitar work, Gordon..I really like the lyrics on this, too. :D The instrumental break was well played...and the sound effects you used in the beginning was great! :D Nice top-notch production! :D
