This was an original I wrote for Bla for the "Love Me Love My Crisis" album. The original was in more of a pop song format and pretty minimal.
In liner notes from the 2002 remastered cd, Zav wrote:
"I think Mark's stuff is way better than mine on this compilation, "Wretched" being the standout."
None of my tracks on that album sounded finished to me. Zav remixed "Wretched" for the cd remaster of the album, editting out a chorus and parts of the end tag flourish. In this version, I put some meat and fat on the bone to finish it up.
