Lyrics
======================================== HER LIPS WERE RED (His Eyes Were Blue) Created 10-31-06 Music & Lyrics by Sandra D. McCarthy (ASCAP) ======================================== v1 His eyes were soft and kind. A quiet grace to her mind. She thought he was an angel, Sent to her from a mystic time. Leaves drift on this lovely day, When he strolled her way. A pleasant face with his playful gaze, Painted bright against the haze. Chorus HER LIPS WERE RED. His eyes were blue. Lips that were ruby red. Eyes that were true. v2 He watched her in a dress, A willowy silhouette. He thought she was an angel, Fair of face and heaven blessed. Hair glowing against silk skies. Her smile caught his eye. A playful walk with a dancer's grace, Took his heart to a calm place. v3 The street was busy, But they saw only one. Buildings framed two hearts, Shaping what might come. Magic struck as eyes captured each other's glance. Timid smiles were shared by a timeless chance. Chorus HER LIPS WERE RED. His eyes were blue. Lips that were ruby red. Eyes that were true.

Wow, Sandy, your new studio set up finds you RADIO READY. Outstanding job on the mix/production. Your own unique vibe with melodic structure, arranging and your always cool vocals catapults this fascinating track to the top of the heap. Nice job with the flutes and strings... amazing job. Great song structure, too - you have achieved the next level... I'm impressed. I have a couple new ones too, "Pray" and "End of Summer Prayer".... Your fan, Johnny

Great song, Sandy. I like the bossa nova undertones - it fits with the chance meeting idea. Eyes engaged create a sort of dance, eh? Sandy, you're voice is so pure at times - it's lovely. The whole song feels like a dream - a nice dream. Like a long ago dream. Like maybe this scenario is being remembered long afterwards. A magnified memory. :)

I really like the music on this one; vocals seem a bit forced at times however, and I found myself struggling to make out what you were saying (especially the first verse); having the lyrics to look at helped there some. Overall, I really like it. It reminds me of the material you were working on when I first joined SC.
