A song about the daft British system that barely gets students through University, then royally screws them with extortionate interest rates once they're earning

Insane piss-taking (chipmunk) songs
It all started back in the mid '90s when whilst we were at school we started writing and recording songs about our teachers using the school's four-track recorder. However, due to the fact that half of us couldn't sing for toffee, we used to record our voices at a slower tape speed than the backing track, then bounce the final mix down at the higher tape speed again, resulting in silly chipmunk voices. Since then, we've acquired more up-to-date technology than the humble cassette recorder on steroids and a dusty old SM58, and we've even started singing properly... sometimes. We've written piss-takes about various train companies, McDonalds, the Fiat Uno, Upton Park in the east end of London, as well as more seemingly mundane inanimate objects like onions and cups of tea.

Story behind the song
We decided to write this song because we were all students finding it extremely difficult to afford anything at the time
Lyrics
I am a student in the capital, I'm in my fourth and final year. My folks can't help me out financially, I'm well and truly skint. I spent my first term in a student hall. My room-mates fort across my bed at night. So then I left and found a better place: I squatted for six months. My rent that year was quite acceptable, But then I moved into a private house. The rent was through the roof at eighty pounds, Which left with me four quid. Those four pounds were supposed to pay my bills, My travel and my overdraft and not forgetting food. In zone three, the Tube was £15 a week, My bills were twenty pounds or so and food about the same. I'm not an expert when it comes to maths, But it's bloody clear that don't add up. I'm short by over fifty pounds a week, And my overdraft is barely twenty-five. Yes, my overdraft is barely twenty-five. I am a student. Oh, screw you Labour.
