A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - piano, drums, bass, acoustic guitar, vocals This song was inspired by the chord progression of "The Resolution" by Jack's Mannequin. This was both a fun and frustrating song to record because, at points, I was completely unable to play the guitar part. I ended up cutting the body of the guitar out of the track, and just used the little hook at the beginning and conclusion of the track. I'm still amazed I didn't break the strings with all of those takes ... although I did break a pick (stupid plastic junk).
Lyrics
I can’t fall asleep Without thinking about you I just cannot seem to Get you off of my mind When the time is right I’ll tell you where I might’ve been It’s gonna be hard for me to explain That there are 26 hours in a day Searching for work through the endless weeks Dealing with tricks I cannot replay in my mind Just listen to what I’ve got to say And then you’ll realize that I was right all along
