Me and a guitar. I think what I do might be described as "Allegorical American Music." I'm in love with the mystery of three chords, a simple melody and sometimes obtuse lyrics. In this digital world of sampled pure tones and instant "professionalism" these are songs written as simple arrangements for guitar and voice in the American song writing folk tradition. Everything is recorded straight off into a couple of mics with no "fancy" multi-tracking, sampling or "real" production. I hope you might enjoy them. - john ford

Lyrics
there was a time in america when money wasnt king the streets of this city were filled with people and not with things there was a time in america I remember well confusion was the virtue and the journey served us well there was a time in america when a hand was good as gold voices rose together at least so I am told there was a time in america hear that crimson bell when jesus was a saviour not just something else to sell now its all but over been a long time gone the dream rolls like a river chasing dawn there was a time in america when the grey sky took its toll a man was judged by vision not what he sought and sold there was a time in america when we burned the city down for justice and for passion instead of tearing each other down there was a time in america when money wasnt king the streets of this city were filled with people and not with things there was a time in america unspoken on the wind time has twisted forward while were waiting on a friend
