Hello, I'm BROCK n' ROLL, I come from New Orleans and I'm not the same old jazz!
Story behind the song
I had the patriotic rock song "AMERICA LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT" ready for my "LIVE" BROCK n' ROLL SHOW ten days after 9-11-01. I wrote "America Love it or Leave it" within ten days after Sept. 11, 2001. We played it a lot for the rest of the year. At the time patriotism was running very high all across the country. When we performed it, people would get into it and sing along with us. It was a great feeling for us as an original rock band
especially because New Orleans is known for being a big cover band town.
We were playing original rock and getting paid just like cover bands and
the audience loved it!
The single was not actually recorded with the entire band, it was just me
and the drummer on this one. I did everything else. It reminded me of the old days when I was a kid and I would make tapes with me playing all the
instruments. Anyway, I played guitar, bass, I did all the vocals. It was
actually recorded in New Orleans, in February 2002. What a great memory.
It's an election year again, and it's time to be patriotic and vote. So soon
"AMERICA LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT" is going to be re-released on an
upcoming CD entitled "ROCK'IN TO THE RIGHT"
