Story behind the song
This song is inspired in Mediaeval wars for territories, but it can be apply to any actual conflict. This song puts together most of the musical elements that we normally use, a complete symphonic orchestra playing together with a rock band.
Lyrics
CAN´T THEY SEE THEIR LAND IN PEACE? CAN´T THEY HEAR THEIR SONGS ONCE MORE? CAN´T THE WAVES OF THE SEA, GO TO LIE IN THE SANDS OF A FREE LAND? IT´S NOT A MATTER OF BELIEF BUT THE HOPES SEEM TO BE GONE, AND THE WAVES OF THE SEA, WON´T LIE IN THE SANDS OF A FREE LAND. FREEDOM, DEEP INSIDE THEIR HEARTS THEY´RE PLEADING EVERY DAY, EVERY NIGHT CAN YOU JUST FORGET THE TIMES WHEN THE KIDS COULD RUN OUTSIDE WITH THEIR GAMES AND THEIR JOKES, WITH A SMILE AND NO FEAR IN THEIR FACES? SO THEY THOUGHT BY PRAYING HARD SOON THEIR GOD WOULD TAKE A CHANCE, AND THAT JUSTICE WOULD GROW AND ITS STRENGTH WOULD BRING PEACE TO THEIR SORROWS. FREEDOM, DEEP INSIDE THEIR HEARTS… AND I KNOW, DARLING; IT´S NOT ONE MORE TEAR. YES I KNOW, HONEY, WE´LL HAVE TO LEAVE SHOULD WE PRAY? YES I WILL! SHOULD WE FIGHT? YES I WILL! FREEDOM, DEEP INSIDE THEIR HEARTS…

The song is very good, conveying a touch of "Braveheart" or "Rob Roy" to the listener. However, if you are more for "raw power" with John and Maite's songs, you should rater opt for "The Force" (ode to the universe; seems to unleash the powers of the universe in a quite literal sense) or "Ich bekenne meine Schuld" (Maite's singing - especially live on stage - is raw power and you feel as if you were facing one of the old warrior godesses of Ireland, such as Bodb or Morrigan or the Lady of Avalon). Nevertheless - enjoy ;)
