A subliminal track in the memory and spirit of Malcolm X---R.I.P. Compliments of DaScience & Diana Ross.
Poetaster, Revo1 (short for Revolution One Love!), with over an hour of spoken word prose for your listening disaster, dares you to attempt to struggle through
Story behind the song
A song called "Missing You" by DaScience from the Audiobots (http://www.soundclick.com/audiobots) grasped me and I felt compelled to tinker with it, musically, via CEP2.1, until I came up with the idea of mixing over the already lovely vocals of Diana Ross (ie: I'm Missing You) with a powerful speech given by Malcolm X. In the speech, Malcolm opens with a very powerful provoking, thought enticing, statement that almost poses a grave question for us all: And they wonder why things are developing to what they are today. Thank you, DaScience. I really appreciate this.
Lyrics
Malcolm's speech:
And they wonder why things are developing to what they are today. No, you don't get justice in court. A black man can't get justice in court. A black man can't get justice in the court system of America.
And I'm telling ya' the only way you get justice is in the street, the only way you get justice is in the sidewalk, the only way you get justice is when you meet justice yourself ...
So make sure you obey the law, make sure you never commit a crime, make sure you never deviate from the law. But anytime one of em' puts his hands on you, take him off the planet, take him off the planet!
Yes, they're gonna' have a funeral in Harlem...make sure they have a funeral downtown too.
