A song written after my father-in-law passed away. He was a sculptor, an artist, a dreamer.

Hey, this is Mister Chris, I'm the Advancement Chairman for a Scout Troop in the Memphis Area, Troop Ole97. This band has formed to create an album to sell to our Alumni from this 65-year-old troop to support the work of the troop. Those songs that are original works by me I am pumping up here onto SoundClick so that you can listen to them. All other members of the band are Scout Leaders or Eagle Scouts themselves.

Story behind the song
My father-in-law was killed recently in a terrible auto accident less than 50 yards from his home. He was 67. Through his many works of art, he left a legacy of visions and dreams that he wished to share with the world. I asked him how he knew what statue to make out of each block of granite or marble. He said that the stone itself decided what was in there, because the fissures and cracks in the stone could only be worked certain ways. It was simply his job to 'release' the vision inside.
Lyrics
Steady hand held a hammer A chisel to stone A masterpiece awaiting The chance to be born... When asked what he was making, The sculptor replied "The vision is hidden, The stone... The stone will decide. Chorus: I'm just here to release the vision That's imprisoned deep within This eagle inside, He just wants to take flight. I'm just removing the rock from his wings. I'm just removing the rock from his wings. Many years have flown by us. His hair had turned gray His hands had grown calloused As they chiseled away... Many visions imprisoned The sculptor set free Like the dreams and the visions In you and in me! Chorus: Well, the sculptor has left us His spirit's now gone But his visions are freed now, And they linger on... Well the papers have missed it, And the news crews failed to see The impact his life had On you and on me! Chorus:
