You could call it Alternative Country, Acoustic Rock, or Roots Rock. Think John Mellencamp, Steve Earle, or acoustic Springsteen. I hope you like these songs. I wanted to write a country song called,"I Don't Like Country." It was too good a hook to pass up.

I DON'T LIKE COUNTRY I. Sometimes a person has to feel real sad/ Sometimes a person wants to sing the blues/ sometimes happy feelings aren't so happy/ 'cuz then I feel there's far to much to lose/ When I feel dark and lonely in my bedroom/ The place I go to hide when I'm depressed/ The last thing that I want to hear is singing/ I'd rather stay inside and be a mess. Chorus: I don't like country when I feel blue, sometimes that music rings/ a bit too true/ and I know when I hear/ that lonesome sound/ it won't be long 'til/ my blues ain't around/ No, I don't like country! II I'm used to scratching by because I'm broke/ I'm used to getting smacked upside the head/ I'm used to longing for that special someone/ and praying each day for my daily bread/ I guess it's hard to truly count my blessings/ when I'm not really used to being blessed/ The last thing that I want to be is happy/ I'd rather play guitar and stay a mess.
