Rap artist Loc E, also known as Ben Norris was born in East Croyden in 1980. rapping over hip hop beats, he likes to express himself in an outlandish manner, he has been described by many, as a quarky rapper that sounds different from any other rapper out there. Currently working on his first EP, which is due to be released around the middle 2008, as a date has not yet been confirmed. For Loc Es first solo project, a 1000 copies will be available to download or to buy direct. The EP will consist of various styles of tracks at different tempos to keep it fresh and unqiue, wilth much toungue in cheek humour which should be taken lightly, with quotes such as "Brain dissorted f****d up sitting on the couch, "Im making the f**ked up look straight like Amy Winehouse, it offers a comical but dark humour for the listener to fall into. Working with producers Abstrakt, Tom, and rapper Danny Dangerously and not to forget south coast finalist Chenelle, there will be some enlightening material that will suprise many. Influenced by the old school rappers he listened to growing up as a young kid, such as De La Soul, Slick Rick, 2 Live Crew and Grandmaster Flash etc, Loc E felt very attached to the hip hop culture. Rasied by his mother in a council flat/house thoughout his childhood, where money was very sparse, it didnt take long before he felt the need to rap. Whether this was a form of expression or escapism, or even both, Loc E would not pick up the mic until invited to do so, by a friend and local rapper called Danny Dangerously in 2001. Encouraged by Danny Dangerosly, Loc E progressed as a rapper and developed his own style, when asked to describe his art form his answer was, Comic book rap meets horrorcore rap, but i like to feel i can rap over almost any beat, to many uk rappers have small minds, all though i feel that is starting to change.
