Nitro (gov/mow) + QR (gov/sb25) in stereo

***Update: 8/4/08***
I've added four new clips and one stereo clip capturing the full sound of my two current Splawn X-patterned 412s. These clips feature the Gov/MoW and Gov/SB25 setups. Please note that my Nitro is now loaded with Tung-Sol EL34Bs and is reflected in these new recordings.
******************
This series of clips in intended for guitar players interested in the difference between Splawn amps and the line of speakers currently recommended for these amps.
Each recording contains two tracks, each part hard to each side. See below for the speaker key.
Each combination of speaker setups were recorded separately with both a Splawn Nitro and a Splawn Quickrod. Both were in 50 watt mode, OD1, gain 3:00, master volume 8:45 (very loud!). For each recording, a single speaker was miced on axis with a single sm57 about an inch of the center of the cone. ***because of this mic placement, everything turned out a bit "crispier" than how the amps sound in person in the room*** The mic was run into an M-audio firewire interface into a tracking program. No effects or post EQ was done other than panning. Guitar used was a Gibson Historic Les Paul Custom w/ a Duncan Custom bridge pick up and the cab was a Splawn cab.
Here is the key in case the recording titles are confusing:
Gov = Eminence Governor
MoW = Eminence Man-o-War
sb65 = Splawn Small Block - 65
bb = Splawn Big Block
sb25 = Splawn Small Block - 25
R = panned hard R
L = panned hard L
*** Depending on how your speakers are hooked up, the R/L designation can be mixed up. If you are trying to isolate a speaker, use the "volume control" panel to adjust the balance hard left or right to isolate the appropiate speaker ****
Finally I recommend that you listen in Hi-Fi mode as this will give the most accurate represenation of the recording.
