Welcome! I am a singer/songwriter of different styles of Christian and Country Music....Enjoy the message I bring, and may your heart be ministered to.
Hello! I'm very glad you stopped in to listen and visit. :) The message I carry is simply this...Jesus loves you and I do too. Hope you enjoy what you hear, and get a blessing from the music, as God does not give His people gifts to just set them upon the shelf, and never be used. I'm only as good as the Lord helps me to be, and I'm thankful for the blessings He has bestowed upon me. I'm NOT perfect, never claimed to be; but on the other hand, I have a message to minister in song, and I do that to the best of my ability. I fully realize there are many songs I demo here that don't fit my style/voice, but I can't run out and get a singer that fits everytime I write a song. :) What I write or cover comes from the heart. I've endured many hard trials in my life, and each one has, in one way or the other made its way into a song that others can relate to. All of my songs except for noted exceptions are free downloads. I'm not a professional by any means, nor am I interested in becoming one; and so the music is given away just as freely as the message was given to me. Story behind the song
This song is my testimony, friends and neighbors... ....And here I was seven years old..being told that I'd been "Anointed" and "Chosen" by the Lord... and didn't have a clue what it meant. I can't say I really knew Jesus back then. I really didn't understand this man I couldn't see. When you're a kid, you don't know much of anything. All I can remember is that I was learning music at a rapid speed, had a strong vocal, nearly died of pneumonia, and my childhood was rough. But yet, the Lord must have thought I was special and poured many blessings upon me at that young age. And things DID change after I was grown..as I've said before, I was raised in the Pentecostal Church growing up, and people believed in the Spirit of the Lord. I was told at 19 years of age, that it was time to fulfil my calling, to become what God had chosen for me to become.... I said NO..and ran hard for seven years. Everything you could imagine happened to me..the Chosen of God do not run..they may run hard for a time, but you can't hide from Him, as I well found out the hard way. If I could have gotten out of it, I wouldn't be here, now, and that's a fact. Hey, I was NOTHING, NADA..and I tried to convince myself and Him of these things as I ran like the dickens. He never gave up on me, though I fell into disgrace. He couldn't force me to come back..the Lord does NOT force us to do anything. But He can sure make our lives a living Hell and Torture on earth while we make up our minds. LOL! He does and will use adversity to turn us around. And, I promise you, that is EXACTLY what happened to me. In the end, it broke me, and there was no more running. Being a chosen vessel has probably got to be the heaviest burden I've had to bear in my life..I've learned what was required of me over time, and the more I have learned the more that has been required of me. Many gifts were given to me.....some were dispensed for successfully navigating my trials, others were for total obedience to Him..and I can remember praying, telling Him I didn't know what to ask for, so please give me what He thoughtI could/would use....and the floodgates of Heaven opened wide! I KNOW what has been set before me, and I'll accomplish it all one way or another with the help of the Lord. When God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. He had dealt with me to write my testimony in song..this is as simple as it gets; how I started, and how I keep going. :) My grateful thanks to David Lunbeck and Kurt Lewis Neufer, as this track as this was a type of Country Pop music I'd never done before, and I couldn't do it with my usual style/flair; so I had to ask for help. Also, many thanks to Tony Delecce for agreeing to sing additional harmonies with me. :D Enjoy the listen. :)
Lyrics
06/08 Once a little girl raised in church I was being groomed for His work And, oh, I didn't understand, I didn't even KNOW this man, Whose love and blessings flowed into my life... I was special, To Him, I was special Things began to change after I was grown, It was time for me to walk a path unknown. For seven years, I played the fool, I ran from Him, would not be true; But God brought me down hard upon my knees... I was broken, Yeah, I was broken. (break) For seven years, I played the fool, I ran from Him, would not be true; But God brought me down hard upon my knees... I was broken, Yeah, I was broken. Rising from the ashes of disgrace, It's taken me so long to find my place.. His spirit within set me on fire, Filled my heart with His desire To do the work that He's charged me to do.. I am chosen.

Tammy, Very good song, I think a lot of us can relate to this song. At least you admit it, something tht takes a lot of guts. Keep the music coming. Peace
Tammy This is a wonderful song and testimony about your life and I liked it a lot. So many of us, including myself have the same pattern in our testimony about our life with The Lord. I also almost grew up in the church, from age 14, had a period of departure and like the prodigal son, came back on fire for Him! I identified with this song a lot!!! and liked its flow and the hook lines you have at the end of each verse: "I WAS SPECIAL", "I WAS BROKEN", "I WAS CHOSEN". Great Song! Blessings!

Hi Tammy, Love the arrangement by Dave. Especially like the organ thrown in. His guitars are very melodic. Funny we all hear different things as I could hear some breakout Honky Tonk piano. (you know I have this thing about Jerry Lee. LOL!) Wonderful track and I think the strength of the song is what makes for so many options in developing the backing track. Good work by all!
