Story behind the song
A concept I'm really interested in is just being sad not because of a real reason, just being sick of the way things are. Sick of stuff you can't change, so I made this song basicly for anyone whose felt that emotion before. I tried expiermenting a little bit when I was recording it, so I added in that humming stuff you can hear on first and second verse.
Lyrics
VERSE ONE: Well the little things they seem to add up Like when 10 dimes turn in to a buck Like when you've just had to much You're filled past you limit, had enough the world doesn't slow down for people like us So you trek through muddy streams Filled with people and their shallow dreams And it's just so wierd when everything Seems like a challenge, seems so hard You're Alert, hurt, on your gaurd Things aren't that bad, whats there to mope for? But sometimes you notice them, abusing what your hope for He's got the popular girl but he doesnt treat her fair He's always had girls, so he now doesn't even care So you trek through that, get mud on your shoes It's like you just got hit and now your soul is bruised CHORUS: Sometimes life is like heavy mud Sometimes you have so much hate and no love Sometimes you feel like you're not good enough Sometimes it's a challenge just to wake up Background: I've got to wake up Got to wake up I've got to wake up Got to wake up But I don't want to return to my life VERSE TWO: You push and you shove Against the heavy mud you try to change Everything that causes you pain but people arent kind and people aren't good its hard to accept that people dont do what the should That people wouldn't help even if they could So you live life with your head down Hoping to escape all the chaos around You don't make a sound keep to yourself observing everybody else figuring out they're in drastic need of help cause they care about money and wealth sex and drugs but the last thing they want is respect or love You could speak up but they wouldn't listen you just can't complete this mission and it's so frusteratin You never thought life could be this agrivatin CHORUS VERSE THREE: You know the bullshit And you can't change it So you get so pissed You wanna slit your wrists You feel like it would be better to die And you don't understand why You're depressed And every breath Feels like there's a thousand pounds on your chest It's not that there's been a drastic change It's just that the world disgusts you, causes you pain Can't these people get it through their brain? Can't somebody gain, and learn from their mistakes? This is all so fake The trees The birds and the bees The hugs, The love And the sky Everything around me seemed like a lie It didn't seem real Nobody knows how I feel Life's a challenge And I was example of that Thank god I discovered rap CHORUS You gotta trek through it (x8) You gotta trek through it You gotta get through this (x4)
