the title is a play on the second movement of the Rite of Spring, occasionally deemed the theme of modernism: a pseudorandomly accented train of pulses. in this case the pulses are the newly constructed lunar lounge unit (analogue) responding to a bank of pure, digital sine tones arranged in a just gamut. the ratios correspond to [1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.667, 2], with a simple octave of 2/1, and the fundamental is 16hz. this signal is also summed with a feedback channel and passed through the lunar lounge unit, and finally passed through a parallel bank of digital resonators at the same nodes as described above. the excitation provided by the oscillator bank is filtered before being sent out, and the filter parameters are altered during the performance. for more information on the lunar lounge unit and its deviant workings, see my blog at www.joemariglio.com
