I am the proud father of two adult children. I have been playing the guitar for various church bands for over 25 years. All of these songs are original and reflect a preference to Christian music with a country rhythm.

Story behind the song
Therefore, when Mary came where Jesus was, she saw Him, and fell at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died." This song is for everyone who has stood in His presence and cried – “Lord where were You? If only You had been here …” The grief seems more than we can bear and, on second thought we cringe at the audacity of such an accusation. But Jesus longs to take us in His arms and weep with us in our sorrow – and as we allow Him to comfort us, we find renewed strength to face life once again.
Lyrics
It’s been some time since I first sought Your favor Still I await Your comfort to my soul Each passing day augments my desperation Until life’s sorrow takes its final toll You said You’re near in every situation You stand by me so I won’t be alone It seems too late to hope for Your salvation And claim Your promised portion as my own Lord, where were You when all my world was crumbling I stood alone in my distress and pain But through the tears I felt Your arms around me And at Your word my heart could hope again If I believe, You say, I’ll see Your glory You bring new life when hope is at an end You raise the dead and heal the brokenhearted When I’m alone You speak as friend-to-friend And You’ve restored the joy of Your salvation My weary soul has found true rest at last My hope in God shall be my reputation Till all my trials and sorrow shall be passed I know You’re near when all my world is crumbling I’m not alone in my distress and pain But through the tears I feel your arms around me And at Your word my heart will sing again
