Composed for the 2008 Honolulu Symphony UH Reading Session. Features a blend of musical styles in a sort of 'end credits'/'mini-suite' way. UPDATE: This is an updated version featuring EastWest Symphonic Orchestra and Virtual Drumline.
I am a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a degree in music composition. This goes without saying but I love music (listening, composing, studying, performing).

Story behind the song
I composed this piece for the 2008 Honolulu Symphony UH Reading Session, so I wanted to include a bunch of different musical styles to hear them with the orchestra. Originally I wanted to tell a pseudo "video game"-like story, as I knew I would draw many elements from game music. However I never really set that story down, so I wanted to leave it up to the listener. After the introduction ("twilight" - taken from my incomplete "Symphony No. 2"), listen for a hero's theme; a short walk through a forest; a "soaring" section followed by a reprise of the introduction that morphs into something more evil; then a medieval dance (based on an unused melody I composed years ago); brass fanfare; a battle scene (which should be longer); and an unexpected quiet ending, which may be interpreted in different ways (I tend to favor the "fallen hero" sort of ending). All in all, the piece is too short. I'd love to expand it a lot and make it a nice orchestral suite..... UPDATE: I finally got the chance to make a nice EastWest Symphonic Orchestra rendering of the piece, so here it is. It's so awesome compared to before!!
