Story behind the song
i got the idea from a Kristen Hersh song, but don't ask me which one. The monster part has to do with the way sometimes people make connections that aren't true and then instead of blaming their own fallibility, or human-ness, they blame all the jokers around them. I was mad when I wrote it and felt better after I was through. When you look at the lyrics, I set the thing in a bedroom with a man and a woman, they are telling sweet lies and they both know it, so why say its my fault, not yours, because when you really open your eyes and you really wake up, the signs were there all along, you just pretended to ignore them. Its always up to you. My fault, not yours, hurry up I'm getting bored... they are both over it but hanging on due to loneliness. Sad, really sad. Also, when the truth finally knocks its way into your closed off room, you say, why are you here? bullshit. I could do a whole dissertation on this song and its double meanings, but I've got to go upload the other ones now.
