Story behind the song
this song was originally written for a former girlfriend during the summer of 2000. a couple years after she left me, i changed the lyrics.
Lyrics
Long time ago I was thinking ‘Bout a girl I thought I loved And I thought she was a gift Come down from above So on a summer day I wrote her a song The tune was right But the words did not belong But before she heard she chose to go And so the words she’ll never know But this is how the music goes Chorus La la la, la la la La la la, la la la La la la, la la la La la la, la la la, la la Well I’ve been thinking How it all seems so wrong How she stole my love and How she stole my song For eleven months I had my wish But I wasn’t on her Christmas list And that girl’s song it goes like this Chorus And I guess that I’ve been livin’ Like I don’t understand what I’ve been given Is a chance write a better song to be What this couldn’t be, this couldn’t be Chorus x2
