We Stand Alone

I always wanted a Mellotron. Then I got one and I've been looking for a song to use it on.

One man band with more patience than talent.
After my old 16 track got struck by lightning, it was time to go digital. The result is several years of slaving over a hot keyboard.

Lyrics
We stand alone With an open mind Our allies went home And left us right behind We stand alone, a sign of solidarity Now’s the time to face up to reality They say that contempt breeds familiarity But between us, there’s no similarity You and I, We’re just passers by We walk the path Trodden by the few You and I, We’re just ships in the night We’re passing through The course navigated by the few We stand alone With our heads held high We make our vows But truth is hard to deny We stand alone With our heads in the sand We’re set in our ways Our future is not what we planned

This is really good - some great lines in there - I like "contempt breeds familiarity". And is that a real Mellotron? Like an actual no sh*t tapeloop type Mellotron? Sounds brilliant whatever it is.
