Since receiving his first guitar at age 12 (a 1965 Silvertone) Ryan has been writing and playing music for his personal enjoyment for more than 30 years. After years of putting his music on assorted cassettes (and a 8 year layoff to take care of career and kids) Ryan put Pro Tools on an old computer in the back bedroom and began writing, playing and recording music again. It's a life-long hobby for him. Ryan plays guitar, bass and keyboards and uses a drum machine for the beats.

Story behind the song
The song began life as a middle 8 to another song I wrote in 1980. I was walking along the other day and it came back in my head (after a long absence) so I decided to put it down. It started off as an acoustic number but, I wanted a heavier bit in the middle. Remembering somthing I saw in "Some Kind of Monster" where James Hetfield talks about "thickening" the band's sound, I decided to have a go at it. So, with my computer and a couple of guitars, my little acoustic song turned into this.
