Lyrics
Asking Too Much (Verse 1) She takes me by surprise Turns the radio down. Says “I’m tired of all the lies. Get me out of this town.” She says “I’m stuck in nowhere. Nothing to show for all the years. C’mon baby, be my knight and get me outta here.” (Chorus) I’m not asking for the answers Not begging for your touch. Just help me forget the questions. Is that asking too much? I’m not looking for redemption Not that it’d be a crutch. Just give me a distraction Is that asking too much? (Verse 2) Now I know she’s my angel Lost her wings from the fall. Want to tell her I love her But I struggle with it all. She says “Speed through the stop signs, Throw caution to the wind! C’mon baby, punch this thing never looking back again!” (Bridge) And she’ll roll the window down As we speed out of town. She’ll break the mirrors Off the side of the car. And say “It don’t matter where we’re going We just can’t stay where we are.” © 1999, 2008 all rights reserved lyrics: terrill coggins music: paul curtis
