RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
looking for hope isn't easy
Lyrics
road is blocked, the way is barred, moving forward's really hard with these sunken eyes fixed on the ground seeing just obstacles that grow and grow and grow and multiply maybe I should lift my head, see if I can see something in the sky hindrances, impediments, hardship never once relents barriers and barricades, obstructions as my eyes look down and down they frustrate so much they make me cry maybe I should lift my head, see if I can see something in the sky lying on the ground, everything around is a sad encumbrance from yesterday baggage and debris that's impeding me, let a brand new broom sweep it all away everything frustrating me, checking and checkmating me robbing me of every shred of hope that there can be improvement sapping me of strength to even try would that I could lift my head, see if I can see something in the sky totally alone, I could kick a stone, not a single clue of just what to do every venture failed, every hope curtailed is preventing me seeing my way through something tells me not to cling, and to look at everything from a different elevation and not spend what's left in futile questioning the past for answers why maybe I should lift my head, see if I can see something in the sky if I only lift my head, maybe I will see something in the sky
