Sometimes you do not need to know someone in life to be counted as their friend, just as long as you are there for them at the end. Lyric by Dawn Sinclair and everything else by Mark Ellis

Artist picture
English lyricist working with dozens of composers and artists
I am a lyricist working with many composers and artists around the world and most frequently with 2 guys, Juri Rosenfeld and Mark Ellis who, although their styles are entirely different, are both extremely talented as musicians and composers, as well as producers. Along with these two, with whom I have written more than 50 songs....I have been most fortunate to collaborate with so many others that the list is almost endless but two very talented ladies spring to mind: Dawn Diamond and Amy Caldwell, who have not only both composed for my words but have also both are possessed of beautiful voices and have sung many, many times on songs I have written. There is no ONE genre I write for, since a lyricist has to be able to write for ANY category and I do, but one thing I try to be always, is honest in my work because when there is integrity, there is a way to relate to the song and if occasionally I meander into the poetic, it is because I am and always have been, since the age of 13 years, a poet...but that doesn't mean everything I write is flowery or full of metaphors...as I say, I strive always to be real and of course, most importantly, to be as unique as possible.

Story behind the song
I have said before that many people inspire me to write lyrics and one of them is the very talented James Blunt....and this was one such lyric which has been given the Marl Ellis touch of magic here...
Lyrics
Final Friend by Dawn Sinclair She was crossing the street, made it almost half way with her mind on the problems she’d faced in the day and she wondered this time like she did frequently if she might have done better if she'd done things differently Now there won't come a time to find out if she was right but she'll never have to face another anxious night because her world stopped she's not going anywhere oh yeah her world stopped so she no longer needs to care and here I stand, a witness to her end no words between us and yet I am her final friend --------------**---------------- He was driving too fast more than blood inside his vein as he chilled out to the music that was easing all his pain the car wandered this time as it did frequently and he didn’t even notice when it stopped so suddenly Now there won’t come a time when he’ll pay for what he’s done and he’ll never face accusers now drugs and booze have won because his world stopped he’s not going anywhere oh yeah his world stops but who will really care? and here I stand, a witness to his end no words between us and I must be his final friend -------------**-------------- don’t wanna do this don’t wanna do this don’t wanna do this any more don’t wanna do this don’t wanna do this don’t wanna do this any more don’t wanna do this don’t wanna do this I don’t wanna do this any more don’t wanna do this I don’t wanna do this don’t wanna do this any more

Hugglies Poss, another great set of lyrics. You are getting better and better (if that was possible). I think that this definitely needs to be picked up and put to a vid clip as a message against drink driving. It has huge impact and Mark has done credit to the lyrics. I feel that in spots it could maybe have a little more raw emotion injected but at the same time, it sends the message well with the delivery the way it is. Another top collab from the two of you, which is only what people expect now :)

This is yet another cracker from you and Mark. Your words, once again, penetrate to the core, just fabbbbbbbbbb. Again Marks arrangement is first class, love his vocal too as always, and his fabby solos, everything is just meant to be together. Match made in heaven!! Well done to ya both. Need to get my ass in gear LOL I got some catching up to do, need to quit the day job first :o)))))) Love and hugzz Dawny xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Mark is a master of the grooves.Love the song.Pretty interesting chordal changes there,at times unexpected,-which is great.Performance and production don't need any comments as they are on a professional level, and never where anything else (from what I've heard so far). Pretty deep and touchy lyrics here,Dah@link! Yes,..."he blew his mind out in a car,he doesn't noticed that the lights were changed...."- from a bit different angle,perhaps.Anyways,-likey!

Hey babe, Another perfect fusion of your lyrics and Mark's music. It's soo incredibly suited, this song to itself. You two really seem to have a magic in working together. The words are almost chilling in places, but the story is touching and sad and Mark has crafted the perfect song to drape it in. Or do I ahve it backwards? Did you write the lyrics for this music? Either way, it's excellent, as I am used to expecting. I think the best part though is the Don't wanna do this part at the end. Really felt it. Okay, next one please... hugglies, Amy
