Ones Battles with addictions
Everyday hard working men
Started in Ontario Canada in 1988 with my friends beside a woodstove in the garage
Story behind the song
My personal battle and a friends with alcohol addiction and our victory over it
Lyrics
From his bed he opened his eyes slowly
Withered down to half the man that he used to be
Full of guilt and hate, tears flowed down his face
He realized that he'd have to change his ways
Just a hard working average man in life
Needing a second chance to make things right
Twenty years with the bottle had blurred his sight
The price was great, his kids and his wife

Some people assume that everything in life is great
But as the waters of life rise, we know the dam can break
So be smart and heed in all the decisions that we need
Dont take this life for granted, we know our hearts can bleed
I saw a friend last Saturday
In his second year of sobriety
Hand and hand with his children down the street
He had his feet back in the door of reality
I spoke with him for a short time
He said he has made ammends, everything is fine
The smile was clear across his face
There is a path, he's found a righteous way
