I borrowed a public domain melody from a 1912 hymn written by Rowe and

Story behind the song
For years I had tried to add the basic concepts of First Corinthians 13 into a song, but it just never came together.
One morning, as I was waking up, the lyrics just fell in place in my head to the melody of "Love Lifted Me."
Once those lyrics fit like a glove, I had no choice but to take a day and record it. After adding six voices to the song, I was very pleased I had waited all those years to create the version which presented my original goals.
As in all Sand and Palms finished products, the skillful talents of JV mixed and remixed all these voices of harmony into a masterpiece.
The song was shipped back and forth, over the internet, from Nevada to Florida for a whole week until the final mix was agreed upon for release.
This song can be heard on 35,000 TouchTunes digital jukebxes and will also be on Rowe and Rock-Ola.
Lyrics
LOVE WILL LIFT YOU TOO
Words and Music by
Wild Bill Cooksey
INTRO:
When nothing else will do, love will lift you too.
Love is patient, love is kind, no jealousy or envy pursued
Never boastful, never proud, not haughty, nor selfish, or rude
Not irritable or touchy, and never demanding it's own way the whole day long
Holds no grudges, and barely notices when someone does it wrong.
CHORUS:
Love lifted me, love lifted me
When nothing else would do, love lifted me
And love will lift your too, love will lift you too
When nothing else will do, love will lift you too.
Love's never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins
Always loyal, no matter the cost, expecting the best of friends
Considering the needs of others first, being willing to always forgive
Love and compassion, should rule our hearts
Every day we live.
REPEAT CHORUS
When nothing else will do, love will lift you too.
