I was listening to the intro that Dev Large, a Japanese emcee, made for the 'Tokyo Tribe 2' anime and got inspired to make this 'cause I loved the beat so much. Features an AWESOME chipmunk intro.

Name: Jeremy Blum Nicknames: Blummer, JB, JAB, Shoryu Crew: Nerds While AZN Nationality: Half White, Half Asian (you figure out the exact mix) Biggest Musical Influences - Mike Shinoda, Tiger JK (of Drunken Tiger), Tablo (of Epik High) I started rapping in 2003 years ago, mainly because I really loved hip-hop and wanted to try creating my own musical works. I quickly found out that I had a knack for it, and I also discovered that I loved making music and sharing it with the world. I originally began rapping with my crew, Nerds While AZN (if you haven't already, you should check our group site out @ soundclick.com/nerdswhileazn) but since then I've mostly done solo work and have finished three mixtapes on my own. I hope you'll enjoy my music, find something that you think sounds tight, and come away with a few favorites. Thanks.

Lyrics
Blummer - Hip-Hop Star all these emcees here, they be realizing that Blummer got the game down, keep you vibing the Nerds are here to bring you Pton's finest but if your shits are weak you better stand behind us listen close as i proceed to embark on a magical tale that started out in the park that was where hip-hop was born, over kicks and horns and snares, back when emcees had fros stretchin' out their hair yo, without a care, they would rap to the fanfare mixin' multiples together with style and flare back in the day it was clean, never uttered a swear didn't need to bust caps to tell doubters beware and while them emcees did their thing everywhere bodacious bboys would bust, makin' people stare toprock, battlerock, backflips off stairs didn't have skateboards but them cats caught air way back when the game was still tame emcees were spittin' for fun and not for fame and then it all went mainstream and corrupted the game now everyone's a star, a shame it'll never be the same (chorus) what does it take to be a hip-hop star do i gotta drive around in a fancy car do i gotta sell my soul just to get far is that what it takes to be a hip-hop star what does it take to be a hip-hop star do i gotta rock a gat and show off scars or can my love of the game help me get far i just wanna make it as a hip-hop star went from vinyl LPs to cassettes and CDs now thanks to Steve Jobs, we've got MP3s on ipods, we jack 'em without payin' the fees for songs about bangin' and smokin' them trees went from bboy stances, battles between crews to profiles of deceased on the evening news so commercialized, check what now you can find chicken noodle soup instead of a New York state of mind what's hip-hop become? no one can agree east coast, west coast, no one can see dirty south, midwest, they're all spittin' their creed but the culture's overcome by so much greed perhaps it's arrogant of me to diss bling and dubs 'cause i like pop rap when it's played in a club but i don't always wanna hear 'bout rims on a car sometimes i wanna hear some realness to take me far (chorus) woah, but hold up fast, 'cause there's still hope believe it or not, some cats are still dope and dare i say it? Nas kinda was wrong 'cause hip-hop's not dead, it's just changing the throne the four elements are moving outta the parks outta the graffiti streets where they made their mark sad in a way, but everything's gotta change the future of rap's just getting rearranged a culture universal, all across the world on the internet and MTV it's been unfurled and now the old heads of those days past have been replaced by youngins, let's respect the past the dude on Myspace, advertising his raps or the producer tryin' to get signed, to get some respect kids not quite in the game, but they love the music they wanna make their marks, show the world they can do it hip-hop's the solution to their lives music for their memories to help 'em survive i'm a part of the equation, maybe one day i'll be an old school star in rap's history book, you'll see (chorus)
