Lyrics
Dreamer © Andy Pearce 2008 The alarm goes off; its a quarter to 8. She wraps the cloak of sleep around her; the clock can wait. As old warriors of Nod Land make their homeward flight, she fills her mind with the old flame, who came last night, in a slip of a dream. And what happened there? She wonders … Well there’s loads to do, and she can’t be late. She tunes the radio to London, with toast on her plate. Her half drunk coffee sees her close the door. She say’s she’s an artist, but she’s on the shop floor, another week or more. At break she stops and wonders … …and she knows She knows she’s a dreamer, like the river slow, She’ll paint her new horizons, let her feelings flow. She knows she’s a dreamer, and she probably should draw a line there, somewhere? Her journey home starts in a tube of crowded hearts. She plays a fantasy in her mind, with two leading parts, where she’s meeting him at Goodge Street, its on the Northern Line. Wears a red carnation, like she did last time, in the slip of a dream. And where is he now, she wonders … … and she knows She knows she’s a dreamer, like the river slow, She’ll paint horizons, yeah, and let her feelings flow. She knows she’s a dreamer, and she probably should draw a line there, anywhere?
