A broad range of genres and production values - from studio work to raw live performances on acoustic instruments back in the days of killer tape hiss. (All were produced as song demos vs artist demos.) IF YOU'RE A LYRIC FAN, click on the "full" or "full song info" line and play the songs from there. That way you can read the lyrics at the bottom of the page as the song plays. I am guilty of all the words, music, arrangements, production, and male vocals. Fortunately, for both you AND me, friends handled the female vocals. (Thanks Leanne, Bodra, Dianne, & Roxanne!) See ya out there!

Lyrics
PRINCESS LOUNGE-ABOUT Princess Lounge-About was very special. In fact, she was much too special to have to clean up her room, or do the dishes, or any other such silly chores. So she just liked to lounge about on her great big bed, snuggled in amongst her many fine quilts and fluffy pillows ... and wait. Wait for someone to come serve her. She waited for the Cook to bring her breakfast in bed. Hot-buttered toast, please, smothered in a thick layer of strawberry jam. And perhaps a cup of warm, sweetened milk in a delicate china cup. Yes, that would be nice! And she waited for the Maid to come clean her room - to sort out all the dreary mess strewn about on the floor. Long overdue for a cleaning actually. Where was that Maid? She waited for her Lady-In-Waiting, as well. The one who was supposed to lay out her clothes for the day. Surely the Lady had laundered and ironed them all by now. What was keeping her? And then there was the Princess's tabby cat, Froofles Froofles wanted to be fed! Where was that Games-Keeper? It was his job to take care of the animals. What was he doing? Princess Lounge-About was going to have to have a talk with him. In fact, she needed to have a talk with all her staff - the Cook, the Maid, the Lady-In-Waiting, the Games-Keeper. And she must be quite firm - this kind of behaviour was entirely unacceptable! No breakfast in bed, her room a mess, no clean clothes laid out, Froofles meowing hungrily ... No, this would not do. After all, a princess should be pampered. She should be treated royally. She deserved to- "Krissie, what are you doing up there?" came a voice from downstairs. "Come down now and eat your toast. It's getting cold." I do wish Mother wouldn't call me that, thought Princess Lounge-About, pulling a pillow over her head and snuggling in deeper. But a minute later the voice called out again, "Don't forget to make your bed, Krissie. And remember, Froofles needs to be fed before we leave." Princess Lounge-About moaned, then climbed out of her pillows and quilts and stood on the carpet by her bed, kicking away a dirty skirt and stockings that got tangled in her toes. "Alas," she sighed wearily as she moved to her closet to look for something to wear, "it is so difficult to find good help these days. Must a princess do everything on her own?" "Kristina, are you up?" called her mother from downstairs, more urgently this time. "Better get moving, dear. You're going to be late for school." Van Clayton Powel
