Sometimes soft and melancholy, sometimes not..
I'm a a singer/songwriter originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I've tinkered with many instruments but pretty much stick to piano and guitar. I've been a member here at Soundclick for about 20 years now, I have met some incredible people from all over the world. I have collaborated with a lot of different musicians in my time here, but most notably I have been working quite closely with Juri Rosenfeld aka Grand Jury. Juri is an utterly amazing composer, musician, arranger, producer from Finland. And I am thrilled to be working with him. Very often the lyricist for these songs is Dawn Sinclair an extremely talented and prolific writer from England. From time to time I have worked with other artists as well, most of whom I have met here on Soundclick. Another SC member, Tom Moore and I have worked closely together on many projects as well, including a 17 song Christmas CD. I absolutely love musical collaboration but have recently been trying to focus on completing some more of my own original compositions. Also check out the band Fractured Beauty, here on Soundclick another collaboration project featuring the talents of Bob Kingdon and others with a psychedelic vibe.

Story behind the song
I wrote this song about 10 years ago when I had just finished University and moved to the big city to try my hand at hitting the music industry. Too bad life and rent and things like that got in the way. I believed I had what it takes, but I didn't know anyone and felt very alone, which ultimately ended in us giving up on city life to try something new. I have alwyas wanted to record it, and finally with the help of my extrememly talented friends I have. I'm really pleased with the result and hope everyone enjoys it.
Lyrics
Nameless streets and faceless people pass; unimagined and unknown. In the flesh I go unnoticed. Too faceless to show who I am And I wonder why I am too scared to smile and I wonder if they wonder too. And I don't know where, or how or when to start. I'm here now but I don't know what to do. All Alone, I never thought I'd see this place this way. On my own, taking deep, brave breaths and trying to forget my home But I am here against every odd, Though I'm scared and unknown But I'm ready to pick up the pieces and I'll lay them all out in a row. And I pray to God that you'll see a difference and teach me all the little things that I need to know. So I am here, and I've been here a while and I'm no further ahead sometimes I cry and I lock myself inside wish I could be anywhere else instead. And I still feel scared, and a little out of place gotta fight to keep the hopelessness away. But nothing stays the same, I came to live this dream and somehow I've got to find a way All Alone, I never thought I'd see this place this way. On my own, taking deep, brave breaths and trying to forget my home But I am here against every odd, Though I'm scared and unknown But I'm ready and willing to pick up the pieces and I'm gonna lay them all out in a row and I swear to God that you will see a difference if you teach me all the little things that I need to know. Oh teach me all the little things.

Hi Amy, See - producing is fun, isn't it? You've done a great job on this one. Tom's guitar work is first rate, as are yours and Dawn's vocals, and Nick also did well with the bass. The song itself is well written.....and the lyric, well yes we've all been there. We all know that story. I have my own set of horror stories from Nashville, and in particular the Nashville Songwriters Association (NO!!! don't go near them!!). All in all, you've done a fine job with this one. Well done!! Loadsa love, Ron

You go, Girl!! The more you work with this part of the craft,(mixing and production) the better you'll get, Amy. :) Lyrically, Little Things is a great song, full of feeling and hope, and at times uncertainty..but you know you'll overcome in the end. :) On the production end, you've done a nice job, Sweetheart, give yourself a pat on the back. :D Congratulations to you and Miss Dawn on a successful collaboration. :D

You have come of age as a an all round songwriter/producer with this one Amy. Sounds so professional!! All the elements are perfect too....Tom's guitar is magical, Nick did a fine job with the bassline...and Dawnys Harmonies sit perfectly in the song with your first class vocals. Couldn't be more impressed if I tried. Bravo littlun!!
