Story behind the song
I lived in Japan for three years and when living there on military bases my grandparents were encouraged to hire a Japanese maid who became my best friend. She was from the Samurai class but during WW-II the family had fallen into tragic circumstances, but her knowledge of Japanese high culture was invaluable to me.
