WELCOME IN THE BLUESBOX ------------------------------------ Thank you all for the support and the interest shown in our music since we started out in December 2006. BLUESBOX is a group of friends playing together, recording and uploading their stuff in the internet. It's not a traditional band ..... maybe it's more like an independent recording label. Everything is done without profit being involved, though. It costs us no big money to do it. I tell you: we would buy our instruments and use our time to play them anyway, wouldn't we ? There you go, as silly as it can be ..... we just do it for the sake of music. Unluckily we can be very lazy: most of the things are totally improvised ..... and recorded in a very basic way ..... but does it really matter ? Nobody's perfect ... right ? Thanks for your visit ..... we appreciate it. And remember .... you can listen, download, broadcast everything for free. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here's who is who ..... _________________ - T-BONE MUSTANG a.k.a. Story behind the song
When Steve "the Healer" Taggart was arrested in 1975, Reverend Jeremy O'Brian was behind the curtains, watching the scene from his windows. The prelate couldn't bear "the Healer" becoming every day more popular with his voodoo .... even more than the man hanging from the cross in O'Brian's church. He put all pressure to get the Prosecutor to charge the Healer and to send Police to arrest him. Almost a year later O'Brian was arrested too, charged with corruption, as he was selling tumbs in the public graveyards for his personal benefit. Rev. O'Brian lost his vows and started his descent to the deepest misery. He realized his life has been a total fake, built on lies. He left town, heding to the place where once he was a happy child. He wanted to prove himself his value despite the reality, by jumping off East Rock .... that always shocked them kids. During the trip to East Rock he slept his last night in the Motel along the road, called the Texx Starr, stopping the rusty car he rented with his last credit card.
Lyrics
Born 1953 I go by the name of Jeremy O'Brian 29th Acre Street was the place you could find me now the call me a liar can you believe it ? they call me a liar I was a man of God with the Truth in my hands and Justice in my mouth but couldn't find nothing in my heart nothing in my heart oh ! Your journey in the world of the blues is always interesting: here we have a classic 12-bars number sung by a Nick Cave type of vocalist, just great and a bit different.
