Story behind the song
I was watching the anime movie "Kiki's Delivery Service" one night and got inspired to write this song. Still don't know how I got the chords for it, but I like it. The song itself would probably sound better if it wasn't just me and a guitar, but let's not get started.
I think the verse riff was inspired a tad by "Married With Children" by Oasis - I'm not quite sure. It's just one of those subconscious things you have when you sometimes write music.
This is the second version of the song. The original was just an acoustic thing. I feel that this version has more of a Wonderwall feel to it than anything else.
Lyrics
Breathing down the neck of a soul
Who never quite found a home
If the door's open, the oppurtunity's there
Or just never quite taken
Every minute I hear a silent scream
For the people who died in my dream
I ask the same old question
Who'll be there when the walls fall?
Who's gonna save me?
Who's gonna save me?
Who's gonna help me through the dark of the night?
Who's gonna guide me through the morning light?
Who's gonna save me?
I want to leave but there's no exit
The doors are closed and the windows are bolted
Into the darkness, the darkness my friend
I need someone to the very end
Who's gonna save me?
Who's gonna save me?
Who's gonna help me through the dark of the night?
Who's gonna guide me through the morning light?
Who's gonna save me?
Breathing down the neck of a soul
Who never quite found a home
If the door's open, the oppurtunity's there
Or just never quite taken
Who's gonna save me?
Who's gonna help me through the dark of the night?
Who's gonna guide me through the morning light?
Who's gonna save me?
Who's gonna save me
You're gonna help me through the dark of the night?
You're gonna guide me through the morning light?
You're gonna save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
Save me
