My band for Song of the Soul is me and my friends
Story behind the song
when i became disabled, i became somewhat dependent and had basic needs that were really a full-time job for someone. according to the fed govt, since i have someone in my life, i don't qualify for aides, etc. (i don't get benefits of can't file taxes together, etc, but they can count us if it suits them...) this someone was my partner and she not only does everything around the house, she works 10 hours a day and helps take care of our son, alex. we're not just talking cooking and cleaning and laundry, we're talking fixer upper, lawn mower, commode cleaner, meal server (in bed in pm), money watcher (budget, checkbook, bills, etc), visitor (me in the hospital), driver, and all with a great attitude. it's a miracle she didn't get hurt falling from heaven like that!

People always tell me I should write a book
Life just happened and that’s all it took
But she stood beside me so selfless and strong
Life could bring anything and nothing’d be wrong
So if I seriously sat down to write that book
It wouldn’t be about me, lord, it’d be a rare look
Into the eyes of an angel who’s carried me through
All the bitter cold winter storm’s that ever blew
Cause
Heaven’s missing an angel and she‘s pretty and sweet
Heaven’s missing an angel who stands on her feet
When the going get’s going more than most could stand
Heaven’s missing an angel and she’s holding my hand
People tell me that I’ve got a good attitude
But in my mind it’s clearly gratitude
I keep thanking god over and over again
For my sweet loving angel, my lifelong friend
Oh
Heaven’s missing an angel and she‘s pretty and sweet
Heaven’s missing an angel who stands on her feet
When the going get’s going more than most could stand
Heaven’s missing an angel and she’s holding my hand
Yeah
Heaven’s missing an angel and she ‘s pretty and sweet
Heaven’s missing an angel who stands on her feet
When the going get’s going more than most could stand
Heaven’s missing an angel and she’s holding my hand
She’s been number one on my grateful list
Ever since that bright night we kissed
For the first time in our long loving years
Together through smiles and trials and tears…
But I know
Heaven’s missing an angel and she ‘s pretty and sweet
Heaven’s missing an angel who stands on her feet
When the going get’s going more than most could stand
Heaven’s missing an angel and she’s holding my hand.
