Calgary based female emcee Lyric is no stranger to standing alone. From the early age of 12, Lyric has survived life on some of Canada's grittiest and grimiest streets. Her debut mix tape 'Born in the Canadian Hustle' which has hot tracks some tracks produced by Capt. Kirk, Ajenda, and Dj Butta. This details her life's experiences as well as showcases her strong will and determination. Born and raised in Toronto, Lyric grew up with an absentee Father and a mother who kept a straight job and had her own hustle for the streets. “Armed with comprehensive rhymes and a distinctive vocal tone - Lyric gives a strong and powerful voice to many young ladies and women caught up in the Canadian struggle”. In May of 2006 Lyric began recording tracks for her first mix tape 'Born in the Canadian Hustle.' She had recorded 30 tracks to pick from and only chose eight. To date Lyric has recorded five songs for her current second collection of materiel. Lyric has shared the stage with Eydol, Jack Mills, Jeff Spec, Guy Woods, and Cody Tha Catch in July of 2007. Recently in October of 2007 Lyric's Calgary based crew Battlefield Promotion Records, opened up for legendary rapper Nas. On December 26th 2007 Lyric also performed at Fameless and in February of 2008 Lyric opened for Cody tha Catch, Guywoods, and Subway Da motto. Lyric includes Little Kim, Missy Elliot and Aaliyah as some of her strongest influences. And she sites her Mother and Father as her first ever artistic influence; she describes him as a gifted visual artist who also has a 30 year history of playing the harmonica in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada clubs and bar circuits. Lyric’s aim is to have a crazy following, to make great music and to see what she can of the world. Lyric’s up coming project is having some real hype Canadian producers from J.
