Story behind the song
“The Revolution will not be Realized” was inspired by Gil Scot-Heron. It deals with my feelings about the negative affect of cosmetology and assimilation on the Black community
Lyrics
The Revolution will not be Realized The Revolution will not be Realized If selling your soul is your goal, The Revolution will not be Realized If you waste the opulence of your Black presence, The Revolution will not be Realized If you’re Negroid in the void of acting Caucasoid, The Revolution will not be Realized If you bleach and leach the shaded side of your hide, The Revolution will not be Realized If you try to deceive by wearing a doll hairweave, The Revolution will not be Realized If your Black roots try dye to live a blond lie, The Revolution will not be Realized If you deny the facts with blue eye contacts, The Revolution will not be Realized If your nose is redesigned into a ruler’s line, The Revolution will not be Realized, The Revolution will not be Realized If you’re made of lies. So, be your Black self for the Revolution, Be your Black self for the Revolution, Be your Black self for the Revolution, Get right Black! Copyright 2007
