An emotive description of what I was feeling on 11 Sept 2001. The US has been packaged into an acrylic wrapping by the rest of the world. It also applies universally to stereotypes placed upon us by others. Won't you come see through the acrylic?

Story behind the song
Musically this song existed several months before September 11, 2001. Basically, I wanted to write a killer song one day so I prayed and asked Jimmi (Hendrix) if he would help me out and a minute later I was playing the awesome chords to the verse sections. The other pars sort of formulated around that.
After September 11, 2001 I was devasted. I didn't know how to deal with it. I'm also a very sensitive person and seeing all of those people in Arab nations cheering made me extremely upset and I asked myself how anyone could wish that upon a fellow child of god. I wanted them so badly to see Americans as individuals and not just as the nation. I also wanted to stress the story.
Previously, I came up with the album title Stereo Plastics while in the studio one day. Acrylic seemed like a natural title to one of the songs on the album so I used it for this song and worked it into the chorus. (Acrylic being a 'Stereo Plastic'...CDs are coated in it). I couldn't be more happy with the results. It fit in nicely.
Lyrics
It could take a lifetime in the right mind to sing a sad, sad song
While it only takes a moment for something to go wrong...deadly wrong
And it’s not enough to notice, not enough to care.
If you never put your arms out, in truth you’ll never share.
So beware, if you hold that face it’ll freeze and you’ll stare...forever.
‘Cause you don’t see through:
I can’t believe it.
Won’t you come see through the acrylic?
You can break a disc into pieces but the pieces still belong.
A stereo plastic will be missed but in the end we’ll provide the song.
‘Cause you don’t see through:
I can’t believe it.
Won’t you come see through the acrylic?
And you don’t see, won’t breathe, can’t bleed.
Won’t you come and free me from the acrylic?
