It's called Maximum Honky Tonk, and no one plays it like Bob Wire. Country, blues, rockabilly, folk, and some good ol' rock and roll. Honest, smart and funny.
Funniest blog on the web? Judge for yourself at NewWest.net/BobWire. You won't regret it. I swear. This is Butt-twitchin' country music for adults with a brain and a sense of humor! Bob Wire writes catchy, original songs with a twisted perspective that puts him way out in the left field of Nashvegas. Bob sez: Hank Jr. is the disease, and Hank Sr. is the cure.

Story behind the song
I wrote a passel of songs about a woman (or man) leaving a bad relationship, and this is my favorite one. I left it kind of open-ended, wanting to avoid the Hollywood happy ending tied up in a neat little bow.
Lyrics
She hit the road in her beat up old Ford Fast as that pickup would let her With the gas pedal floored she was driving toward something better She’d had enough fighting to last her whole life In love with a man that she hated As the white lines flew by asked herself why she had waited Chorus There’s always one more horizon A chance to be somebody else Just look for the highway that’s not on the map Get out there and rescue yourself He left with nothing but the shirt on his back And the scars from a lifetime of violence She begged him to stay and he answered her with his silence His daddy had taught him to never hit women No matter how angry you’re feeling So he called it quits when she found his best friend more appealing Chorus Bridge No one will give you the answers to the questions that you never ask Maybe it’s time to move forward and start letting go of the past The sun was just setting when she picked him up Hitchhiking out on the highway He said wherever you’re headed, you’re going my way They drove all night, taking turns at the wheel Smoking her cigarettes and talking She let him off at the crossroads and he started walking
