WANTED MAN Cantwell/Siegel 2008
Well I'm leaving with the sunset, cause I killed another man
I've got to make it to the border, let them catch me if they can
You know I'm not the kind, that you can push into a fight
And I never meant to hurt him, he just had to be set right
He said some things about her, laughed and spoke her name
So I sent him crashing to the floor, now I'm....a wanted man
Well if a man has money, he can do most anything
But I am just a working stiff and their bound to see me swing
There'll be no fancy lawyers to defend and plead my case
And a judge would never understand it was all just a mistake
Now I'll never see my mother, father, wife, and child again
I'll just have to keep on moving, cause now I'm.....a wanted man
Now my life’s an endless highway, where nobody knows my name
If I stop running they're sure to make me pay so I'll stay... a wanted man
I can never make up for the life I took that day
and I pray to god each morning to wash this sin away
Tell my son that his father was a good and honest man
For he's bound to hear some rumors and he wont understand
Maybe someday I can kiss my wife and hold my child again
But till then I’m just a shadow Yeah I’m.....a wanted man
