Spin is a pretty straightforward rock song. The rhythm guitar in this version hasn't changed much over the years. The second guitar and bass lines are works-in-progress.

The music of Cold the Winter, both old and new
Cold the Winter was the moniker I used for the songs that I've written and rearranged over the years. In 2019, I recorded a six-song EP titled "Skylines and the Horizons" with the help of my friends JD and Matt. Skylines was the culmination of a journey that started in 2011, took strides forward in 2017, and was finalized over the course of 2018 and 2019. As of 2024, Cold the Winter has taken a backseat to KCWM, a moniker I've released three albums, eight singles. It is likely that any future Cold the Winter songs will be released under the KCWM banner.

Story behind the song
Spin has been around for some time now. For the most part, up to this version of it, the only change to the rhythm guitar was make it easier to play. When I started recordings for an EP I made some significant changes to the song. After the reversed intro, the guitar comes in with a solo over the pre-chorus chords on top of a driving snare beat. The verses have shifted into a softer 16th note hi-hat pattern. The second guitar line in the verses is now absent until the chorus, though I've considered reintroducing something for the pre-chorus since I've dropped the lyrics in that part during their rewrite. Outside of a lyrical change, the chorus stays almost completely the same. I need to clean up the rough mix I did, sans vocals because I never got around to them, and upload it as to offer a contrast of where this was and where it is now.
