A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - drums, piano, synthesizer, vocals, effects This was a fun track to write and record because it has some very strange but interesting chords - E flat sus2 and sus4, among others. The song as a whole is one of my favorites, though, because there is a lot to listen to throughout its 4 minutes, 22 seconds. There are also a lot of basic form changes through the song -- it doesn't follow a typical verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure, which I love.
Lyrics
Desert valley with the dark sky above Riding along the silver lining of the clouds Having the times of our lives Living inside the biggest bubble of time Caught up in the puzzle again Singing your way out to the front Growing up tall and proud Getting a whole lot of that good stuff Making a ton of leaps in life Tripping over something not there Envisioning the one who will guide you through to Maya Respite calling, calling down to you Right you are, said yes, right you are Bring me back to where I belong now Because I miss the people I miss the respite Little oasis beside the mountain of sand Trees line every side of it I'll be there too Just come on back to me
