Story behind the song
Re-make of a song I wrote originally for a cover band wanting to do some original tunes for the radio in the eighties. This song was originally inspired by a Hurricane party I attended in Texas while waiting for Allen to make land fall. Metaphorically speaking, life situations create storms around us all.
Lyrics
When our nightmare frightens us Makes us shudder and scream Wish that we could wake up But this time its no dream When there's trouble that closes in Oh we want to run But now there's no escape We'll stand and survive this one. Ride Out the Storm Ride Out the Storm We're going to make it through Though lightening frightens you Just ride out its Thunder Ride It Out So we've been searching for A place to hide away Get away from all that haunts us but fear has made us stay Now we have to face it Ugly as it seems Believe we're going to make it though it may be extreme Ride out the Storm Ride out the Storm We're going to make it through Though lightening frightens you Just Ride out its thunder Ride it out. We don't want to fight It's not about wrong or right Screams of rage and fear Until peace again appears Ride out the Storm Ride out the Storm We're going to make it through Though lightening frightens you Just ride out its thunder Ride it out We're going to make it through Though lightening frightens you Just Ride Out its Thunder Ride it out.
