Fantasy-themed rock ballads and anthems
Our demo CD "The Dark Before Hope" draws on the work of Tolkien, especially the Lord of the Rings epic. Bethany, lead vocalist and lyricist, is building up a body of songs about other books she was moved by as well--she's a fantasy writer with a penchant to wax eloquent in many forms about literature. Daniel, primary musician and current producer, plays around on his bass and sometimes a guitar to find musical hooks to build more songs around.

Story behind the song
Daniel created music for me on this one. The gentle strumming on his electric bass (his solo instrument) is so perfectly gentle and steady I love to hear it still.
Lyrics
Hold on, and keep that sweetness in your eye Beauty elvenhobbit shy I went to save the Shire for you Wait for a littleI'll be back again Love grows sturdy in the Shire Hope blows with the west-wind's fire And my rose grows firm back home Come home, and leave that sadness far behind Travel wearyroad-proved strong I kept a lonely heart for you I gave my heartis yours still mine? Love grows solid on the road Hope dawns bright in west-war's end And my Sam comes true back home Mem'ries child, you grow more fair than any flower Tall and lovelylike the star In you we see the past grow dim Laugh more, my loveour age has gone Love grows sturdy in the Shire Hope blows with the west-wind's fire Elinor grows firm and home
